Here is a Santa's gift for the IkariaDance Project friends!
The "Kariotika Kalanda"- Αi Vassilis Carols, as played in the village of Akamatra the 1st of the Year 2014! That day in all villages some people start visiting in the afternoon the houses to wish good wishes for the new Year and to praise the family and as they mover from house to house the Carols' Singers group becomes larger and larger! At the end, while the next day arrives, the singers that have "survived" from all nights' singing the carols around end up in a house of a "Vassilis" who celebrates his name day that day and finishes the custom there…Singing around many songs and having a good time….You shall see our friend Dimitris singing and improvising with many rhymes...
These carols use to be different in the different villages, but now while singing them sometimes they try to sing as many variations as possible, that's why you shall see some people holding papers with all lyrics and variations written there!
