A historical day for Ikaria, as it celebrates the 100 years from its adherence to the Greek State! Tomorrow apart from the paniyiri in Arethoussa, there are also various celebration events all over in Ikaria and of course in the capital Aghios Kyrikos.

Funny story going around the mouths this year, typically after the 100 years of being a part of Greece, Ikaria has the "right" now to decide if this status should continue or if they should become again an independent state ( as they were for some months before "entering Greece"...) Who is for Ikaria's independence state? :) (I do not know the impact to dance meetings like ours in such case....:)
